Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, utilizing automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical knowledge to identify issues
- Prepare detailed auto estimates using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software and explain repair options clearly to customers
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, or transmission repairs to maximize customer value and dealership revenue
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services
- Maintain accurate service writing records, process cash handling transactions, and manage customer invoices efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, explaining repair procedures, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the service process
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive service advisor or in a similar auto service management role within a dealership environment
- Strong mechanic experience with automotive diagnostics, collision repair, oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, transmissions, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignment, suspension work, diesel engine repair, and auto body repair
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in understandable terms
- Demonstrated ability in auto estimating software and service writing processes
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive various vehicle types confidently
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Customer service-oriented mindset with sales skills for upselling additional services effectively
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by dealership or service technician experience is highly desirable
