Position Overview
Sunbelt Modular is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT Hardware Deployment Technician to join our on-site IT Operations team and support the continued growth of our workstation deployment program. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in PC hardware assembly, diagnostics, imaging, upgrades, and quality assurance.
This role focuses on building and preparing systems for internal use - including high-performance drafting and architectural workstations, standard office desktops, and upgraded laptops. The technician must be able to efficiently identify and resolve hardware-related issues while maintaining Sunbelt’s high standards for build quality and reliability.
This role is well suited for an early-career IT professional looking to expand their technical skills in enterprise hardware deployment, endpoint management, and IT operations while working alongside an experienced IT team in a growing organization.
The position is based at Sunbelt HQ, where the technician will support hardware deployment and inventory activities, assist employees with basic technology-related questions, help guide users through established IT support processes, and occasionally provide hands-on assistance with equipment setup and troubleshooting both onsite and at local facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware Diagnostics & Assembly
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues on desktops, laptops, and custom-built workstations.
- Assemble & configure drafting and architectural PCs to Sunbelt quality standards.
- Perform component installation, replacement, cable management, and system optimization.
- Identify and resolve BIOS, firmware, and hardware compatibility issues.
Imaging & Configuration
- Clone and deploy system images using Sunbelt’s standardized imaging tools and workflows.
- Prepare pre-built office desktops and laptops for deployment, including RAM and NVMe upgrades.
- Validate system performance through testing and quality checks.
Quality Assurance
- Follow Sunbelt’s standard work instructions (SWIs) and build procedures.
- Maintain consistent build quality across all workstation types.
- Document findings, updates, and system status within the IT portal.
- Ensure all systems meet Sunbelt’s operational readiness standards before deployment.
Working Area & Environment Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area.
- Track hardware inventory, components, and build materials.
- Prepare systems for delivery, including labeling, documentation, and packaging.
- Support rapid deployment cycles, including next-day or urgent build requests.
On-Site Interaction
- Provide occasional light assistance to employees at Sunbelt HQ.
- Redirect users to the IT Support team when issues fall outside the deployment scope.

Qualifications
Required
- 1–2 years of experience in PC hardware deployment, IT support, desktop support, or a similar technical role preferred. Equivalent technical education, certifications, or demonstrated hands- on experience will also be considered.
- Experience diagnosing, repairing, or assembling desktop and laptop hardware, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of PC components, system architecture, and hardware compatibility.
- Ability to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related problems.
- Familiarity with imaging tools, diagnostic utilities, and system preparation workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Punctual, reliable, and accountable for assigned builds.
- Limited local travel to nearby company facilities may be required as business needs dictate.
Preferred
- Experience building high-performance CAD/BIM workstations (Revit, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Experience in deployment, MSP, or production-style build environments.
- A+ Certification or similar.
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
