Job Description Summary

The University of South Alabama’s department of Health, Kinesiology, and Sport is seeking to hire a Secretary V. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions

Performs responsible departmental secretarial duties as assigned by the department chair.
Assists with administrative tasks necessary to support departmental functions.
Answers department telephone and emails.
Greets and routes students and visitors to appropriate faculty and staff.
Utilizes Microsoft Office, Google Tools, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Banner Finance and Student Records System to access departmental and student information as needed.
Enters faculty load and compensation (FLAC) information for part-time faculty.
Prepares part-time faculty appointment letters.
Prepares faculty load reports.
Creates class schedules in Banner and prepares and submits schedule maintenance forms and curriculum action forms.
Uses Concur to document/allocate faculty travel and process invoices.
Enters purchase requisitions and assists with textbook orders.
Reviews budgets and keeps Chair updated.
Maintains department files and databases.
Makes arrangements for departmental and program meetings.
Takes minutes at meetings as assigned by chair.
Regular and prompt attendance.
Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
Related duties as required.
