Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Concrete Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing various concrete-related tasks on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of concrete forms and frameworks according to blueprints and technical drawings.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely for tasks such as concrete pouring, cutting, finishing, and pumping.
- Install rebar and metal reinforcement structures to ensure structural integrity of concrete elements.
- Mix, pour, spread, and finish concrete surfaces with precision to achieve smooth finishes and meet project specifications.
- Follow construction plans and schematics accurately while interpreting blueprint specifications for various concrete applications.
- Perform demolition or removal of old concrete surfaces during renovation or restoration projects as needed.
- Maintain strict adherence to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete work or related trades such as masonry, carpentry, or renovation.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with familiarity in operating power tools, heavy equipment, and concrete mixers.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and construction plans effectively.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to material needs and project timelines is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction workplace safety regulations and best practices for heavy lifting and working at heights.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Additional skills such as rebar installation, formwork construction, tile laying, plastering, caulking, roofing, or welding are advantageous but not required.
