Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) and Certified Licensed Professional Counselor (CLPC) to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in clinical counseling, psychotherapy, and behavioral health services, with a strong focus on working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring crisis intervention. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations for diverse patient populations, including children, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis intervention techniques.
- Implement evidence-based interventions tailored to specific needs such as PTSD care, addiction counseling, autism spectrum disorder support, Alzheimer’s care, and Geriatrics.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to coordinate patient care plans while maintaining accurate medical records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Engage in case management activities including treatment planning, progress monitoring, data collection for clinical research, and documentation aligned with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster patient engagement and promote positive behavioral change.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive treatment approaches that incorporate social work principles and medical terminology expertise.
Requirements
- Valid LCSW-C license issued by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners or equivalent licensing authority; active CLPC certification required.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, and behavioral health within hospital or community settings.
- Demonstrated expertise working with children, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD patients, and geriatrics.
- Strong knowledge of medical documentation standards including CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding systems for diagnoses.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for patient records management and data collection purposes.
- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding standards; familiarity with special education processes is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform intake assessments effectively and engage clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of crisis management protocols and experience providing crisis intervention services.
