Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead carpenter to oversee and coordinate construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of various construction trades, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently on-site. This role is vital in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The Lead carpenter will serve as a key point of contact for teams, clients, and suppliers, guiding project execution from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations on construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project specifications.
- Coordinate and lead teams in tasks such as framing, carpentry, drywall installation, roofing, siding, flooring, tile laying, and finishing work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project plans.
- Estimate materials and labor needs for projects, including concrete forming, rebar installation, metal stud framing, fixture installation, and remodeling tasks.
- Operate or oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials such as stucco, plastering supplies, cabinetry, doors, water damage restoration materials, and electrical components.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets industry standards and client expectations.
- Handle heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with construction site activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of project progress, issues encountered, and safety compliance records.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, carpentry (including trim carpentry), framing (including metal stud framing), masonry, plumbing, electrical work, roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, drywall finishing (including plastering), water damage restoration, mold remediation, and restoration industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for various construction disciplines.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools (including CNC machinery), fabrication equipment, and heavy machinery related to construction projects.
- Experience with concrete forming procedures and rebar installation is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex tasks such as fixture installation or cabinetry work.
- Excellent leadership skills with a focus on team coordination and safety management.
- Valid experience in remodeling projects or renovation industry is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with a solid understanding of safety regulations is essential.
