Position Overview
Provides quality rehabilitation care in Occupational Therapy to residents as outlined in the plan of care in accordance with laws, regulations and Facility guidelines.
Education & Certification:
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BS or MS-Occupational Therapy)
Experience:
Must have a current OT license for state of practice in good standing; must be NBCOT certified; one year experience in a health care setting; long-term care experience preferred
Rate: Commensurate with experience
Job Duties
- Assesses functional levels and capabilities of residents.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of resident needs and makes recommendations related to resident therapy treatments.
- Provides occupational therapy treatments by following the resident plan of care.
- Develops goals for activities of daily living which are measurable and realistic, based on resident’s care plan.
- Participates in the discharge planning process for residents.
- Thoroughly documents treatment progress in resident charts in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with residents and families.
- Documents appropriately and timely in accordance with laws, regulations and Facility guidelines.
- Performs overall supervision to OTAs and rehabilitation aides to ensure quality rehab care services are provided.
- Completes required company forms and documents to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
