The Commercial Director is responsible for driving revenue growth and commercial strategy across our chemical storage and distribution business. This role leads sales, business development, pricing, and key customer relationships, while working closely with operations, terminal management, and executive leadership to align commercial goals with operational capacity. The Commercial Director plays a central role in shaping the company's growth strategy, expanding market share, and strengthening customer partnerships. Reports to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's commercial strategy, including sales targets, pricing strategy, and market expansion plans.
- Build and lead a high-performing commercial team, including account managers and business development staff.
- Own key customer relationships, serving as a senior point of contact for major accounts and strategic partners.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new customers, markets, and service offerings.
- Partner closely with terminal operations and supply chain teams to ensure commercial commitments align with operational capacity and capabilities.
- Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, terms, and service level agreements with customers.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform commercial strategy and pricing decisions.
- Develop and manage the commercial budget, including revenue forecasts and growth targets.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term growth strategy, including potential new terminals, services, or markets.
- Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade associations.
- Monitor and report on commercial performance metrics, providing regular updates to executive leadership.
- Ensure commercial activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Chemical Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive commercial, sales, or business development experience, ideally within chemical distribution, storage, logistics, or related industry.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and building strong customer relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience structuring and closing complex commercial agreements.
- Deep understanding of the chemical storage and distribution market, including customer needs and competitive dynamics.
- Demonstrated leadership experience building and managing commercial or sales teams.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate market data into actionable strategy.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and executive leadership.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support customer relationships and business development.

Pay: $195,633.00 - $255,874.00 per year
