Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in providing therapeutic services to patients in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and inpatient care.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' needs and develop individualized care plans based on their specific conditions and goals.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding rehabilitation processes and home care strategies.
- Stay current with best practices in occupational therapy, especially related to geriatrics and other specialized populations.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a skilled nursing facility, outpatient clinic, or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and their application in therapy is a plus.
- Strong understanding of care plans, assessment tools, and therapeutic modalities related to both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and the unique needs of older adults is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
