The Maintenance Account Manager will be responsible for managing assigned landscape maintenance accounts, maintaining strong client relationships, performing routine property quality checks, and identifying enhancement opportunities.
This role is highly client-facing and field-focused. The Account Manager will partner closely with Production Managers, Crew Leaders, and Maintenance crews to ensure work is completed to Sexton standards. While this role does not directly manage crews or oversee equipment, the Account Manager will be involved in the morning load-out process to help communicate priorities, coach teams, and support smooth daily execution.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of landscape maintenance, can confidently walk properties with clients, knows how to spot service issues and improvement opportunities, and is comfortable driving enhancement sales.
Manage and maintain strong relationships with assigned maintenance clients.
Conduct routine quality control visits across assigned properties.
Document site observations, service needs, corrections, and follow-up items.
Serve as the client's landscape advocate by ensuring services are completed as expected.
Partner with Production and Crew Leaders to communicate site expectations, quality standards, and client needs.
Participate in the morning load-out process with Maintenance crews to help communicate priorities and provide support.
Identify enhancement opportunities and provide landscape improvement recommendations to clients.
Write and present proposals for enhancement work.
Meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
Support the Maintenance Department in achieving production and client service goals.
Communicate any field, service, or equipment concerns to the Operations team for follow-up.
Participate in weekly sales meetings and support team communication.
Maintain organized records of client communication, site visits, proposals, and sales activity.
This role will carry enhancement sales expectations, with a weekly target of proposed sales activity and an annual closed sales goal.
The Account Manager should be comfortable farming existing accounts, responding to inbound opportunities, and pursuing some self-generated new business. A strong fit will be proactive, relationship-driven, and able to identify practical landscape solutions that benefit the client and the company.
Experience in Landscape required, maintenance experience - preferred
Prior account management, client service, or sales experience in landscaping, property services, or a related field.
Ability to walk properties, identify service issues, and recommend landscape improvements.
Strong communication and follow-up skills.
Ability to build trust with clients and internal teams.
Comfortable working in the field and partnering with crews.
Organized, detail-oriented, and accountable.
Goal-focused and motivated by sales and client satisfaction.
Humble, coachable, positive, and willing to keep learning.
Valid driver's license required.
Degree or coursework in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Building Sciences, or a related field.
Experience in the Southern Alabama market.
Spanish-speaking ability.
Proven record of selling enhancement or landscape improvement work.
