Reed City High School is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our athletic department for the upcoming volleyball season. We currently have two positions available: Junior Varsity Head Volleyball Coach and Junior Varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach.
These roles are ideal for individuals passionate about volleyball and committed to fostering a positive, competitive, and growth-oriented environment for student-athletes. Coaches will work closely with the varsity coaching staff to develop players’ skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while supporting the overall success of the volleyball program. Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development and team strategies.
- Support the team and program by preparing for competitions, including game-day preparations and logistics.
- Teach fundamental volleyball skills, including serving, passing, setting, and hitting techniques.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance individual and team growth.
- Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff regarding team activities, schedules, and player progress.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Assist in the organization and execution of team events, including fundraisers and community outreach.
- Uphold school policies and regulations while promoting the values of Reed City High School.
Requirements
- Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball at the high school level or higher is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, players, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must pass a background check and comply with all school and district requirements for coaching staff.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but not required.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all athletes.
