Job Summary
We are seeking a Full-time Automotive Parts Salesperson to join our team. Berryville Auto Parts is a family-owned business with a focus on total car care. In addition to being an independent Carquest Auto Parts retail store, we have a full-service automotive repair shop.
This job involves assisting customers, identifying and selling correct auto parts, and managing inventory. Key duties include recommending products, answering questions, processing sales and returns, and keeping inventory records. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about the auto industry. They must have the required skills including strong customer service, communication, and computer skills, along with knowledge of automotive parts.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers, answer questions about parts, and help them identify the correct products and services for their vehicles
- Identify and locate the correct auto parts using parts catalog, in-store inventory, and special orders from Advance Auto/Carquest network or external suppliers
- Provide DIY services including simple battery testing, wiper installs, check oil levels, etc.
- Support inventory processes including truck put away, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
- Support special parts order processes including receiving and returns
- Perform daily store cleaning tasks including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, etc.
- Foster strong relationships with customers by delivering outstanding customer service throughout the process
Required Skills
- Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and management
- Familiarity with automotive parts lookup catalog systems
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Experience in cash handling and point-of-sale systems
- Ability to perform physical demands including frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs (e.g., rotors, batteries, fluids)
- Ability to perform basic services including simple battery testing, wiper installs, etc.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in automotive part sales REQUIRED; pay commensurate with experience
- Ability to work rotating SATURDAYS (8am-noon)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- High School diploma or equivalent
