The Cylinder Filler safely fills gas products into disposable and refillable cylinders in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and RGAS standard operating procedures. Reports to the Production Manager or Plant Manager.
Essential Duties
- Fill high- and low-pressure cylinders and liquid containers per safety and quality procedures.
- Read and interpret cylinder labels and color-coding to identify gas hazards, size, and contents; label cylinders accurately with current decals and lot numbers.
- Complete all fill-process documentation legibly and in compliance with company and RGAS requirements.
- Comply with OSHA and all government/company standards for safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases.
- Move cylinders throughout the plant; load and unload trucks as needed.
- Monitor stock and empty-cylinder inventory to meet customer demand.
- Maintain cylinders and repair filling equipment (hoses, valves, safeties) as needed.
- Keep the workplace clean and orderly.
- Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; follow all safety and quality rules.
- Set a positive example by following company policies. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Gas-handling knowledge/experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual a plus.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to read material safety data sheets.
- Able to work independently and under deadline pressure.
- Flexible hours (within 2–3 hours of start/end times).
- Able to perform moderately complex math.
- Able to safely operate a forklift.
- Able to work well with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
- Able to bend and lift 50+ lb containers.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; must pass background check and drug screen.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
