Join our dynamic team as a Local Roll-Off Driver and become a vital part of efficient waste management operations! In this energetic role, you will operate specialized roll-off trucks to transport and dispose of municipal and commercial waste materials. Your expertise in commercial truck driving combined with a commitment to safety will ensure smooth, reliable service for our community. Responsibilities
- Safely operate roll-off trucks, adhering strictly to traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety protocols.
- Load, transport, and unload waste containers efficiently at designated disposal sites or customer locations.
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks and mechanical components to ensure optimal performance and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Maintain accurate paperwork of routes, loads, and delivery or pickup times in accordance with company regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during pickups and drop-offs.
- Follow all safety procedures for heavy lifting, outdoor work, to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Assist in route planning to optimize efficiency while ensuring timely service delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks such as end dump trailers,roll-off trucks and belt floor trailers.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with air brake endorsement; manual or automatic transmission experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of heavy lifting techniques and construction waste management practices.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and state transportation laws related to commercial driving.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and maintenance checks on trucks.
- Demonstrated defensive driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during route interactions.
