Payroll Specialist (Remote)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position responsible for processing accurate and timely multi-state payroll while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws.

This individual is process-driven, solution-oriented, and takes ownership of payroll from start to finish while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process accurate and timely bi-weekly multi-state payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
- Calculate and process provider/doctor production and commission payroll accurately.
- Review payroll registers and audit payroll data to ensure accuracy before payroll is finalized.
- Audit employee earnings, deductions, taxes, direct deposits, garnishments, PTO balances, and timekeeping records.
- Partner with Human Resources and Finance to ensure employee information, pay changes, and deductions are processed accurately and timely.
- Research, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies while providing exceptional customer service to employees and managers.
- Partner with ADP to research and resolve payroll tax notices, monitor tax account activity, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Monitor changes to payroll laws and regulations and work with ADP to implement necessary compliance updates.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation using Microsoft Excel.
- Maintain confidential payroll records while ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Assist with year-end payroll processing, including W-2 preparation and payroll audits.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.
- Perform additional payroll-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
- Experience processing payroll using ADP Workforce Now is preffered.
- Experience processing provider, production, or commission-based payroll is highly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, filtering, sorting, and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and payroll tax compliance.
- Experience researching and resolving payroll tax notices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Healthcare payroll experience is a plus.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
