Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will operate a quad axle dump trucks to transport and deliver materials efficiently across various sites.
Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and other heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, or hazardous goods using manual handling techniques and appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and route planning.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, cargo manifests, and inspection reports in accordance with logistics cargo handling standards.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues or safety hazards, ensuring trucks are in optimal condition for operation.
- Follow safety protocols when handling hazardous materials or dangerous goods, adhering strictly to hazardous materials regulations.
- Collaborate with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries, report issues promptly, and ensure smooth route driving operations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Prior experience in logistics cargo handling, load & unload procedures, and route driving is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for dump trucks and hazardous materials as applicable.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazard communication standards, and safety procedures related to dangerous goods.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while maintaining high attention to detail during vehicle inspections and cargo management.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
