Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Steel Building Foreman to lead and oversee the construction of steel structures from start to finish. This pivotal role involves managing on-site teams, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring that all aspects of the steel building project are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities
- Lead daily on-site operations, supervising steel erection crews and subcontractors to ensure timely progress
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans for accurate execution
- Enforce safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations and conduct regular safety meetings to promote a safe work environment
- Oversee quality control measures, inspecting work for adherence to specifications, schematics, and building codes
- Monitor project budgets, track labor hours, materials usage, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation
- Conduct regular site inspections using tools like ohmmeters for electrical checks and ensure all work aligns with blueprint reading standards
- Maintain detailed documentation including daily reports, incident logs, and progress updates using Bluebeam or similar construction management software
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience in construction management with a focus on steel or heavy civil projects
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating
- Familiarity with construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and HeavyBid
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety enforcement
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately; experience with construction budgeting is preferred
- Skilled in project scheduling, management, supervising teams, and coordinating multiple trades on-site
- Proficiency in using tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing; experience with pipeline or heavy civil projects is a plus
