A well-established international logistics and global trade organization is seeking an experienced Import Traffic Coordinator to join its growing operations team. This organization is recognized for delivering exceptional customer service, innovative supply chain solutions, and expertise in international trade compliance.
This role is ideal for a logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating transportation, monitoring shipments, and ensuring timely final delivery of imported cargo.
- Coordinate and dispatch import shipments for final delivery.
- Prepare and distribute delivery orders to carriers and trucking companies.
- Verify bills of lading, container numbers, piece counts, and shipment details for accuracy.
- Ensure cargo is released and available for pickup from ports, terminals, and rail yards.
- Monitor shipment movement and proactively update ETA information within internal systems.
- Obtain and communicate pickup numbers and delivery instructions to carriers.
- Track shipments to ensure cargo is removed from terminals and rail yards prior to last free day.
- Monitor and obtain Proof of Delivery documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
- Process and coordinate Customs examination payments as required.
- Communicate delays, delivery issues, and exceptions to internal customer service teams.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and update operational systems accordingly.
- Support customer service and operations teams to ensure exceptional client service.
- 2+ years of experience in import traffic, logistics coordination, transportation, freight forwarding, or international logistics operations.
- Experience coordinating truckers, carriers, and final mile delivery activities.
- Strong understanding of import operations, delivery orders, and shipment tracking.
- Experience working with ports, rail yards, container movements, and cargo releases preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to customer service.
