Job Description:
The candidate will possess the skills, knowledge and experience to effectively step into a laboratory position as Lead Analytical Chemist in a cGMP manufacturing facility. This position also includes the opportunity to progress to a laboratory management position in the future.
Beneficial Experience:
Analytical Skills
- Chromatography
- Method development (HPLC, GC)
- Method validation (HPLC, GC)
- UV Spectroscopy
- IR Spectroscopy
- Total Organic Carbon analysis (cleaning validation a plus)
- General wet chemistry techniques
- Routine analysis of raw materials, finished and in-process products
Instrumentation skills
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, general operational functions
- Troubleshooting analytical instruments
- Instrument calibration/maintenance
Administrative skills
- Maintenance and development of written laboratory procedures in conjunction with documentation personnel and management
- Review of production/general procedures
- Review of completed production processing records
- Out Of Specification (OOS) investigations
- Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMR) investigations
- Deviation investigations
- Process validations
Leadership skills
- Ability to lead laboratory personnel
- Prioritization of laboratory analysis based on production and regulatory requirements
- Working closely with production/management to forecast needs/requirements
- Analyst training
Experience
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline
- 5+ years of experience working in a cGMP/cGLP environment
