Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bus Attendant to ensure the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a background in childcare or education, with the ability to manage behaviors effectively. This role is essential in providing support to students, creating a positive and safe environment on the bus.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during their bus rides, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Assist students in boarding and disembarking the bus
- Manage student behavior and resolve conflicts as they arise, promoting a respectful atmosphere.
- Be able to communicate effectively
- Implement behavior management strategies to support students' needs.
- Provide first aid when necessary and maintain a safe environment for all passengers.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization on the bus.
Qualifications
- MUST be a Washington, DC resident
- MUST be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding when working with diverse student populations.
