We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Care Worker to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs in various care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Provide compassionate care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, employing specialized memory care techniques
- Engage residents in social activities, group outings, and recreational programs to promote mental stimulation and community involvement
- Practice safe patient lifting and manual handling techniques to prevent injury for both residents and caregivers
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and organizing resident spaces
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, geriatrics, and home & community care practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with sensitivity and respect
- A valid employment physical dated no older than 12 months from the date of hire and up to date tuberculosis test results are REQUIRED
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive disabilities is advantageous
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist residents with mobility needs safely
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
