POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Technician will conduct tests and analysis on products and raw materials to ensure they meet quality standards prescribed by the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.
2.
Comply with Harvest Hill Beverage Company policies and procedures.
3.
Report immediately to your supervisor all conditions that may pose a risk to product food safety and/or quality.
4.
Food Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility.
5.
Analyzes batch and product samples for brix, acid, color, etc.
6.
Maintains and records detailed result into a computer and on data sheets.
7.
Analyzes raw materials such as fruit concentrate to see that it meets required standards.
8.
Performs microbiological testing of finished products.
9.
Performs and provides training and auditing of QA procedures and requirements to production employees for the products they are producing.
10.
Works with lab equipment and chemicals used for testing.
11.
Maintains lab – cleaning, filling supplies, etc.
12.
Auditing line equipment, calibration of lab equipment.
13.
Report immediately to your supervisor all conditions that may pose a risk to product food safety and/or quality.
14.
Provide the highest level of internal customer service.
15.
Assist with external, State, and FDA regulatory inspections.
16.
Work on shop floor as required.
17.
Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, etc. on equipment and building structures for the purpose of inspecting, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
18.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
o
High School diploma or GED
o
2+ years’ lab experience, preferably in quality assurance processes and methods, preferably in a food industry setting.
o
Must have strong communication and leadership skills to promote quality and teamwork.
o
Strong organizational skills.
o
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
o
Must be able to use and calibrate testing equipment for raw ingredients and finished products to obtain precise, accurate measurements.
o
Proven record of strong documentation skills as well as strong math skills.
o
Must be able to read and follow procedures and specifications.
o
Must be able to analyze and interpret data.
