Duties
- Feed, water, and monitor cats to ensure proper nutrition and hydration
- Clean litter boxes and maintain hygienic living spaces for all feline residents
- Observe cats for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns promptly
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Provide gentle handling and socialization to promote positive behavior and reduce stress
- Assist with the intake and discharge process for new or departing cats
- Maintain detailed records of each cat’s health status, behaviors, and care routines
Skills
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain cats when necessary
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques to keep cats clean and comfortable
- Experience with pet sitting or caring for animals in a shelter or boarding environment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when needed for cleaning supplies or equipment
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Basic veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is a plus for understanding medical needs
- Familiarity with animal restraint procedures and handling techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff
