Taco Fresco and Southside Steakhouse are sister restaurants based out of Rutland, VT. Together we cater for the Champlain Valley Dinner train in Burlington, VT, and pride ourselves in a fast-paced, professional and fun work environment.
We are looking for some skilled individuals to join us for our 2026 summer and fall season aboard the Champlain Valley Dinner Train!
Our summer service schedule is every Saturday and Sunday July 10-September 6th (approx. 2 pm - 8:30 pm). Fall service schedule is every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 11th-October 25th (approx. 1 pm - 7:30 pm).
We serve a 3 course gourmet meal over the 3 hour train ride, every weekend throughout the summer and fall. Train leaves and returns to Burlington Train station in downtown Burlington, VT.
Server responsibilities are (but not limited to):
Set up before dinner service each night which includes -
- Setting tables with tablecloths, napkins, cutlery, plates
- Polishing beverage glasses and silverware
- Preparing coffee and coffee stations throughout the train
- Filling water carafes
- Folding napkins
- Delivering pre-sold cheese boards to assigned tables
- Checking assigned section for any allergies or special requests
Knowledge of menu, specialty cocktails, beer, and wine.
Serving guests cocktails, food, and drinks.
Bussing and clearing tables throughout the entire train after each course is finished.
Breakdown once train arrives at station and customers disembark, which includes (but not limited to):
- Bussing and clearing all plates, glasses, and silverware
- Bringing all dirty dishes back to kitchen car to be washed
- Breakdown of coffee stations
- Removing and replacing tablecloths
- Setting tables for following nights dinner service
- Trash and recycling
- Emptying slop buckets
Serving experience is appreciated but not required!
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
