Maui Humane Society is an open-admissions animal shelter for cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, turtles, and other animals. We provide veterinary and routine care and help surrendered animals find a new home. We also provide humane law enforcement services, education and outreach, programs to retain pets in their families, and low-cost spay and neuter surgeries. We're excited to welcome you as our Cat & Small Animal Pathways Coordinator. In this role you will focus on streamlining pathways and care expediting animals toward their forever outcome. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week - 5 days a week / 8 hour shifts that includes weekends and holidays.
What you'll be doing (with a team and training):

Regularly reviewing animals in care and ensuring their next steps are clearly identified and facilitated

Optimizing length of stay (LOS) by identifying barriers and facilitating movement

Scheduling medical care for animals and following through on any treatment plans or re-checks

Supporting high-needs animals such as neo-natal care, disease handling, and/or basic behavior support
To be successful in this role you'll need to have (minimum qualifications):

Strong customer service communication skills - externally and internally

Experience in animal welfare especially animal care or foster programs

Professional animal handling experience

Experience with animals with medical or behavioral needs

Experience with shelter software (PetPoint preferred)
