Part-Time BookTok & Social Media Assistant — Romance Publishing
Location: North Jersey / NYC area preferred
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 4–6 hours per week
Work arrangement: Primarily remote with occasional in-person content creation/events
KRomanceReads, a publishing imprint bringing translated Korean romance novels to English-speaking readers, is looking for a creative, book-loving Social Media & Book Marketing Assistant to help us grow our reader community.
We're looking for someone who genuinely loves romance novels and understands—or is excited to learn—the world of BookTok and Bookstagram. This is a great opportunity for a college student, recent graduate, aspiring publishing professional, or experienced book content creator who wants hands-on experience helping build a growing romance publishing brand.
What You'll Do
- Create approximately 2–3 engaging social media posts/Reels/TikToks per week
- Develop BookTok- and Bookstagram-friendly content around our books, characters, tropes, quotes, and themes
- Help plan and execute book launch campaigns
- Create graphics and short-form videos using Canva, CapCut, or similar tools
- Identify relevant BookTok/Bookstagram creators and assist with influencer and ARC outreach
- Engage with readers and help grow the KRomanceReads community
- Follow romance publishing and BookTok trends and suggest creative ways to use them
- Occasionally meet in North Jersey or NYC to create content or attend relevant book/cultural events
We'd Love Someone Who
- Is an enthusiastic romance reader
- Regularly uses TikTok and/or Instagram and understands what makes book content engaging
- Has a good visual eye and strong written communication skills
- Is comfortable using Canva; CapCut or other video-editing experience is a plus
- Understands BookTok, Bookstagram, romance tropes, and online reader communities
- Is dependable, responsive, organized, and comfortable working independently
- Is interested in publishing, books, Korean culture, K-dramas, or translated fiction
Previous professional social media experience is helpful but not required. A strong understanding of books, readers, and social media matters more to us than a long résumé.
