The Franciscan Health Clinical Educator II designs, develops, and administers educational programs to new and existing clinical coworkers. These programs are developed by Continuing Education (CE) certified RN's, so that the clinical coworkers receiving the education will be able to use them for clinical recertification respective to their clinical designation (state licensure and certifications). The Clinical Educator II conducts clinical skill assessments for all new hires, to determine orientation program placement and to evaluate appropriate clinical practice placement. This role, in addition, is responsible for program development of new products, equipment, and procedures used in the clinical setting, to include grant research and grant writing to augment costs of extended clinical education programs.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Acts as a change agent by introducing and supporting new ideas, as well as assisting in the implementation and sustainment of change strategies.

Conduct research for implementation of best practice.

Develop, coordinate, maintain, evaluate, and improve components of the orientation process using evidenced-based practice.

Evaluate on an ongoing basis the results of educational programs, processes, and clinical interventions, to ensure they are activities meeting the standards of practice and regulatory requirements.

Facilitate the communication process between management, staff, ancillary departments, and professional contacts across the Franciscan Alliance.

Serve as a leader, to promote the professional growth of peers.

Perform and report the gaps between processes, procedures, and system functionality between Current State and Desired Future State Analysis.

Support staff development with educational activities, including remediation, certification, mentoring, regulatory requirements, new equipment/procedures, and EMR updates.
Qualifications

Required Bachelor's Degree Nursing / Patient Care

Preferred Master's Degree Education, Nursing, or Healthcare Related

1 year Clinical Teaching Required

Currently working as PRN RN to maintain competencies Preferred
