We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. Cosmetic Chemist to join our innovative research and development team. Duties
- Assist in the formulation and development of new cosmetic products, including creams, serums, and lotions, utilizing knowledge of formulation chemistry and materials science
- Support chemical scale-up projects from laboratory to pilot plant, ensuring consistency and quality during manufacturing transitions
- Conduct laboratory experiments, materials analysis to evaluate product stability and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality control, regulatory affairs, and marketing to ensure product compliance with FDA regulations, CGMP standards, and ISO 9001 guidelines
- Perform analytical testing and data analysis to troubleshoot formulation issues and optimize product performance
- Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, results, and procedures in accordance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards
- Contribute to intellectual property efforts by documenting innovative formulations and process improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related field with coursework or experience in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, or materials science
- Hands-on laboratory experience with laboratory instruments such as pH meter, viscometer, and other analytical tools
- Familiarity with cosmetic regulatory compliance including FDA regulations, CGMP practices, and new product development processes is preferred
- Knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, polymers experience in materials engineering, and formulation chemistry is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of experimental design techniques such as Design of Experiments (DOE) for product development projects
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams
- Ability to follow detailed laboratory procedures while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards
- Prior experience in Cosmetic, pharmaceutical research or industrial laboratory settings is a plus
