Clean Way Services (CWS) is a marine tank cleaning company located in Portsmouth, Va. We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Quality Assurance (QA)/Safety Coordinator to join our team!
In this position, you will perform various QA/Safety related duties in support of CWS work of pumping, cleaning and preparation for gas-free certification of tanks, voids, cofferdams, inaccessible areas, bilges and other compartments onboard U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard vessels in the Hampton Roads area
Requirements:
- Familiarity with aspects of a Quality Management System (QMS).
- Familiarity with all safety related manuals, instructions, reports and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DBIDS badge/CAC for base access.
- Driver’s license (for local travel to/from military installations)
- Familiarity with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) equipment for employees (Hard hats, safety glasses, etc.)
- Ability to traverse ships ladders, gangways and confined spaces.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Duties:
- Create various Process Control Procedures (PCPs) including creation of required schematics and/or drawings.
- Review completion of PCPs and submit as Objective Quality Evidence (OQE).
- Maintain a record of all Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) including completed tickets.
- Verify completion of all Test and Inspection Plans (TIPs).
- Draft, submit, and track reports to include contractual required reports
- Review work specifications and identify requirements.
- Coordinate the call out of all QA checkpoints, ensuring timely and accurate requests.
- Conduct deck plate safety talks and training and attend ship board daily safety walks.
- Maintain inventory of and monitoring the proper working and in calibration of safety equipment (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA’s), Competent Person (CP) meters) and larger/critical equipment (borescope, sea snake, flow meter, torque wrench).
- Maintain all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) logs and reports.
- Document all/any injury reports.
- Liaison with sprinkler company and coordinate annual fire bottle inspection.
