Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive mental health services in the North Kentucky region. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in clinical psychiatry, including working with diverse populations such as children, adults, and geriatrics. This role offers an opportunity to deliver evidence-based psychiatric care, including medication management and psychotherapy, within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting. The psychiatrist will play a vital role in assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and ensuring high-quality patient care while adhering to healthcare regulations and policies.
This role is fulltime and will cover 1 facility in Louisivlle, KY and 1 facility in Prospect, KY
Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and other evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
- Provide inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth psychiatric services with a focus on patient-centered care and recovery.
- Manage medication regimens while ensuring compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and health policy standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex conditions such as PTSD, developmental disabilities, addiction issues, and behavioral health concerns.
- Perform crisis management interventions promptly to stabilize acute psychiatric episodes and ensure patient safety.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Participate in clinical supervision, training, or consultation-liaison psychiatry activities to support ongoing professional development.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives by collecting data on patient outcomes and adjusting treatment approaches accordingly.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Valid medical license to practice psychiatry within the state of North Alabama or relevant jurisdiction.
- Post-residency experience in clinical psychiatry, including outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Proven expertise in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy modalities, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics; familiarity with pediatric psychiatry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of health regulation policies such as HIPAA and DEA regulations related to controlled substances.
- Strong skills in crisis management, mental health counseling, addiction medicine, and trauma-informed care (including PTSD).
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of medical records and treatment plans.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team-oriented healthcare environment.
