Role: HME Specialist
Location: Travel between AHN Hospitals (AGH, West Penn, Forbes, Wexford, Canonsburg, Jefferson, AVH)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process referrals, obtain authorization, documentation, and physician orders to support dispensing criteria, and take the necessary steps to obtain missing documentation.
- Provide clear instructions to patients and caregivers to ensure understanding of the equipment.
- Comply with all hazardous and infection control procedures and proper PPE.
- Presents a positive image of AHN HME through professional appearance and behavior.
- Verify benefits to ensure coverage and correct setup with the system and communicate to the customer.
- Educate customers on the proper use of equipment, complete training confirmation documents, and the equipment distribution, including but not limited to orthotics, compression, bent metal, and oxygen.
- Capture and maintain business services with facilities and explore potential growth and sale opportunities.
- Ensure proper fit and demonstrate knowledge of orthopedic devices through accurate measurement, fitting, and removal of appliances.
- Maintain and complete quarterly on-site inventory and collaborate with the sales team.
- Document and maintain a tracking system for all work completed to reflect efforts and weekly referral volumes.
- Weekend on-call and Holiday coverage as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
