New Grad Registered Nurse Residency Program
We are now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort and have rolling admissions throughout the year. If you're ready, we're ready! Only a few more spots left for the fall!
Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s Nurse Residency Program provides a structured orientation experience that allows new ADN, BSN and MSN nurses with less than one year of clinical experience to begin their nursing career with confidence. This comprehensive program includes a combination of classes, lab experiences; a precepted unit-based orientation, as well as training in our Simulation Center utilizing human patient simulators.
Our Nurse Residency is Designed to Grow with You!
Most nurse residency programs end after one year. Ours doesn’t, because becoming a confident nurse doesn’t happen on a timer. Our two-year Transition to Practice Program is built to meet you where you are and evolve with you. It starts with structure and guidance, then gradually gives you more space, confidence, and control over your growth without ever feeling overwhelming.
Your first year is all about feeling supported, not rushed. This year is designed to give you stability, reassurance, and a strong sense of belonging as you find your footing, alongside other new graduates, growing together!
By year two, you’re no longer just learning the role. You’re shaping your future in it. The second year is intentionally lighter, flexible, and personalized. Instead of a rigid curriculum, you’ll guide your own development based on your interests, goals, and career direction.
