The Opportunity
As HR Manager at Eagle Crest Nursery, you are not a back-office function, you are a culture builder and a people champion. This role sits at the heart of leadership development, team retention, and organizational health. You'll work closely with ownership and senior leadership to shape how we attract, grow, and keep the talented people who make Eagle Crest sustainable. What You will Own
People & Culture Strategy
- Culture - Partner with leadership to build and maintain a workplace where people want to stay, grow, and do their best work
- Our Values - Champion Eagle Crest's values in every HR process and interaction
- Retention- Develop and implement retention strategies that address both the practical and emotional needs of our workforce
- Advise - Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on all people-related matters
Talent Acquisition
- Recruiting- Lead recruiting and hiring efforts across departments , including seasonal and year-round roles
- Hiring Process - Build hiring processes that identify candidates who align with Eagle Crest's values and work ethic
- Onboarding - Write compelling job descriptions, conduct structured interviews, and develop onboarding experiences that set new hires up for success
- Talent Pipeline - Maintain a proactive talent pipeline so we're never starting from zero
Coaching & Performance Development
- Coaching - Design and deliver coaching frameworks that help managers hold meaningful performance conversations with clarity, fairness, and compassion
- Feedback - Build a culture of feedback, not just annual reviews, but ongoing development conversations rooted in growth and accountability
- Development Plan - Partner with department leadsership to identify high-potential team members and create pathways for advancement
HR Operations & Compliance
- Payroll - Own the full payroll cycle - timekeeping review, processing, corrections and coordination with our payroll provider- ensuring every team member is paid accurately and on time.
- Benefits - Administer employee benefits from enrollement through renewal, including serving as the go-to resource for employee benefits questions.
- Compensation - Understand and administer Eagle Crest's compensation bands, ensuring pay decisions are consistent, competitive, and equitable across the organization.
- Compliance - Own HR policies, employee handbook updates, and compliance with Colorado and federal employment law
- Records - Manage employee records, benefits administration, and onboarding/offboarding processes with accuracy and care
- Policy- Ensure consistent, fair application of policies across all teams
- Systems - Identify gaps in HR infrastructure and build the systems to fill them
Training & Development
- Training - Design and facilitate leadership and team training programs that bring our values to life
- Review - Develop a sustainable review process for all team members
- Succession Planning - Build learning pathways for employees who want to grow within Eagle Crest and ensure healthy depth of competent team members

Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of HR experience, with demonstrated expertise in employee relations, talent development, or HR generalist work
- Proven track record of building or improving HR programs that resulted in measurable retention or engagement outcomes
- Working knowledge of Colorado and federal employment law
- Experience coaching managers and leading performance management processes
- Strong interpersonal skills - you can build relationships with everyone from field crew to ownership
Preferred
- HR experience in a seasonal, agriculture, retail, or trades-based industry
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience with HRIS systems and applicant tracking software

Compensation & Benefits
- Position salary starting at: $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
- Performance-based bonus opportunity
