Job Summary
We are a growing construction company with locations across Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas, seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to build and lead our HR function. This role is responsible for establishing and directing HR policy, procedure, and infrastructure, compliance, recordkeeping, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits for a growing, multi location workforce. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, traveling between locations as needed, and shaping HR practices from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the development, implementation, and enforcement of HR policies and procedures across all company locations
- Manage full-cycle recruiting: job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new hires
- Maintain compliant personnel files, I-9s, and employee records for a multi-state workforce
- Administer benefits enrollment (medical, PTO, sick time, paid holidays) and serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions
- Develop, update, and maintain the employee handbook and related policy documents
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and applicable state labor laws across OK, MO, and TX
- Handle employee relations matters including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and documentation
- Coordinate performance review processes and support managers with documentation
- Support training and certification tracking (safety training, licenses, required compliance training)
- Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews, final pay compliance, and unemployment claims
- Partner with the Controller on payroll-related compliance and reporting
- Travel to company locations across Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas as needed
- Apply SHRM best practices to build scalable HR processes appropriate for a growing, fluctuating workforce
- Train HR team as needed.
Qualifications
- SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) required
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a senior-level HR role
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to direct HR policy and procedure for a growing organization
- Construction industry experience a significant benefit
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance, including multi-state considerations
- Experience building or improving HR processes in a growing or under-resourced environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and judgment skills
- Ability to manage HR for a workforce of 100+ employees, including fluctuating headcount
- Willingness and ability to travel to company locations in OK, MO, and TX

Reporting Structure
This position reports to the COO and Controller and works closely with leadership to align HR practices with business operations across all company locations.
Pay: $71,000.00 per year
