Description:
Rental Works is seeking an experienced Shop Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of construction equipment with a primary focus on excavators, skid steers, compact track loaders, and related attachments. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems, and keeping equipment rental-ready.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on excavators, skid steers, compact track loaders, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, drivetrain, and undercarriage issues.
- Troubleshoot machine performance concerns using diagnostic software and testing equipment.
- Complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct equipment inspections upon return from rental and prepare units for the next customer.
- Repair and maintain buckets, attachments, couplers, breakers, augers, and other accessories.
- Identify parts requirements and communicate with Parts Department.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support occasional field service needs as required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience repairing construction equipment, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or diesel machinery.
- Strong knowledge of excavators, skid steers, and compact track loaders.
- Experience diagnosing hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
- Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work safely in a shop environment.
Preferred Experience
- Bobcat, Takeuchi, Yanmar, or similar equipment.
- Diesel engine repair
- Rental industry experience.
The hours for this position are 7:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
