In-person lesson rate increases under the employed structure are scheduled as follows:
- July 1, 2026 – $32.50 per hour
- January 1, 2027 – $35.00 per hour
Mileage reimbursement for travel between lesson
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Personal Trainer to provide in-home fitness training for clients of all ages and abilities, including individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. In this role, you'll design and deliver personalized, goal-oriented programs tailored to each client’s unique needs and capabilities. Your expertise in adaptive training and commitment to client success will help foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial in-home assessments to evaluate fitness levels, mobility, and individual goals.
- Design and implement customized training programs that reflect clients’ objectives, preferences, and support needs.
- Provide one-on-one instruction with a focus on adaptive techniques and safe, effective movement.
- Monitor progress and make ongoing adjustments to programs as necessary.
- Educate clients and caregivers on proper exercise form, body mechanics, and overall wellness.
- Communicate regularly with clients, family members, and support staff to ensure alignment with personal and therapeutic goals.
- Maintain professionalism in diverse home environments, respecting client routines and preferences.
- Collaborate with behaviorists, therapists, or educators when appropriate to support interdisciplinary care.
- Promote additional services such as adaptive sports, nutrition consultations, or assessments to enhance outcomes.
Skills
- Proven experience in personal training, adaptive physical education, or related fields.
- Background working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or mobility challenges is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of adaptive fitness strategies, body mechanics, and injury prevention.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with clients and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience delivering in-home or community-based services preferred.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification in Personal Training (NASM, ACE, ISSA, etc.); CPR/First Aid required.
