Certified Medical Assistant
We are looking for an upbeat, medical assistant for a fast paced, high volume office.
The Medical Assistant assumes a wide range of clerical and clinical functions in within the clinic. Under the supervision of the physician, the MA provides direct patient care and clinical administration. The MA serves as a key player in interacting and communicating with patients and clinical staff. Applicant must possess a positive attitude and work well in a team environment. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Rooming patients, taking patient histories and patient vitals
- Coordinating pharmacy refills and lab results
- Maintaining Medical Records in EMR
- Handling patient phone calls and relations
- Prior Authorizations
- Managing a high volume of patient visits
- Patient Education
- Assisting in office procedures
- Assists physician in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals including maintaining supplies/equipment and sterilization
- Gives injections and handles minor procedures such as collecting specimens and applying/removing dressings as applicable.
- Office administrative duties as necessary
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Candidates who recently graduated from a medical assisting training program must obtain a clinical ACDT certification within 60 days of employment.
- Qualifications/Experience:
- Medical assisting work experience AND possession of an active and unrevoked RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NCRMA certification/ABR-OE credentials is preferred.
- Dermatology experience preferred
