Bowles Rice LLP, an established law firm with offices throughout West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Virginia, is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its growing Charleston, WV real estate team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working on sophisticated real estate and business transactions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in a busy commercial real estate and transactional practice, assisting attorneys with all aspects of real estate acquisitions, sales, financing transactions, development projects, leasing matters, and commercial closings. Responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing closing documents, coordinating and managing transaction closings, conducting title and public records examinations, drafting title opinions and summaries, reviewing deeds, leases, easements, and related instruments, and working closely with clients, lenders, surveyors, title professionals, and governmental offices to move transactions efficiently from contract through closing.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of transactions throughout West Virginia and beyond, while developing expertise in commercial real estate, title, financing, and business matters under the guidance of experienced attorneys.
Qualified candidates should have prior commercial real estate and closing experience and possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. The ideal candidate thrives in a deadline-driven environment, manages multiple priorities effectively, and demonstrates strong attention to detail and sound judgment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required. Experience with title examination, title opinions, commercial closings, or real estate development projects is strongly preferred. Coal, oil, and gas title experience is a plus.
