Full-Time, FLSA Non-exempt position Salary: $58,916 - $88,373 annually

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- High School Diploma or G.E.D., and three (3) years public safety communications
and emergency dispatch experience including one (1) year supervisory
experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- NCIC/ACIC Computer Certification is required.
- Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License.
- Must complete AZPOST questionnaire www.azpost.gov
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees communications functions for City public safety operations including supervising day-to-
day operations and coordinating communications activities in relation to major and emergency
events. Coordinates dispatch activities for emergency and non-emergency calls for service requiring
police, fire and/or medical assistance; conducts quality assurance regarding calls for service.
Supervises, trains and monitors the performance of assigned personnel; schedules staff and
monitors work flow. Ensures compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and regulations
governing dispatch activities. Utilizes, monitors and maintains departmental computer systems
including CAD, NCIC, and ACIC systems. Gathers statistical data and prepares monthly reports;
maintains phone logs; corrects and updates 911 ANI and ALI information. Monitors and maintains
documentation and records pertaining to calls for service; conducts related research. Performs
dispatch functions including receiving emergency and non-emergency calls for service; coordinates
with emergency response personnel, public works and/or outside agencies to ensure the provision
of timely assistance to callers. Operates two-way radios to communicate with law enforcement
personnel in the field; receives and provides information regarding the nature and location of calls
for service and criminal/civil incidents. Performs record checks on individuals and vehicles; provides
related information to law enforcement personnel in the field. Conducts public service and public
relations activities in relation to crime prevention; assists with taking citizen fingerprints. Provides
assistance with detention facility security and prisoner monitoring.
