A technology, software, and manufacturing company in the Virginia Beach area is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented operational leader to oversee the production & fulfillment processes.
The Production Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership, performance, quality, staffing, workflow management, and continuous improvement of the team. This role ensures all production and fulfillment activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time while maintaining the highest standards of quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Duties
· Lead, coach, and develop team members and supervisors to support high levels of performance and engagement.
· Establish clear goals, priorities, and accountability while fostering a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
· Support talent management activities, including recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, employee development, and corrective action as needed.
· Demonstrate strong leadership through effective communication, accountability, professionalism, and active operational involvement.
· Oversee daily operational activities to ensure efficient execution of business processes and achievement of organizational objectives.
· Manage workload distribution, staffing levels, resource allocation, and operational priorities to meet business needs and customer expectations.
· Monitor operational demands and adjust plans, schedules, and resources to support changing business requirements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and leadership to address operational challenges and improve overall performance.
· Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality standards, policies, and customer requirements.
· Identify operational risks, process inefficiencies, and performance issues, implementing corrective actions and sustainable solutions.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
· Develop, maintain, and enhance standard operating procedures, workflows, and training materials.
· Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to evaluate departmental performance and support decision-making.
· Apply process improvement methodologies and best practices to streamline operations and improve results.
· Participate in strategic planning, business initiatives, audits, and special projects as assigned.
· Ensure equipment, tools, and resources are utilized safely, effectively, and maintained appropriately.
· Oversee inventory, asset management, recordkeeping, and operational documentation as applicable.
· Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
· Support organizational goals by contributing to cross-functional initiatives and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, print production, fulfillment, logistics, or operational environments.
· Demonstrated success leading teams, managing workflows, and achieving operational performance goals.
· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
· Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
· Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and troubleshoot production equipment and machinery.
· Experience with print manufacturing, fulfillment operations, quality assurance, mailing operations, or related production environments preferred.
· Experience utilizing continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles preferred.
· Working knowledge of Shipwise, mailing software, Adobe Acrobat, CorelDraw, or similar software platforms preferred.
· Valid Driver's License and dependable transportation.
· Ability and willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays during seasonal production peaks.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while maintaining focus and productivity.
- Good vision, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with mandatory weekday or weekend overtime based on production needs.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
