Covenant Metabolic Specialists (CMS) is seeking a dedicated and personable Community Liaison for our facility located in the Fort Myers area. This role is pivotal in fostering and maintaining relationships with primary care providers' offices, the wider medical community, and other stakeholders. The Community Liaison will be responsible for organizing outreach events, facilitating patient referrals, and serving as a key communication link between CMS and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and cultivate strong relationships with primary care providers' offices, healthcare facilities, and community organizations in the region.
- Organize and host community outreach events to educate healthcare providers about CMS's research initiatives and treatment options.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for partnerships and collaborations that align with CMS's mission.
- Facilitate patient referrals from primary care providers to CMS.
- Deliver test results and trial updates to referring physicians in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide educational resources about liver diseases, particularly fatty liver disease, to healthcare providers and their staff.
- Coordinate with the CMS research team to stay updated on ongoing trials and new developments.
- Represent CMS at local medical conferences, health fairs, and other relevant community events.
- Maintain detailed records of provider interactions, referrals, and outreach activities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective communication materials for healthcare providers and potential partners.
- Visit other Covenant facilities on the West Coast of Florida to shadow and assist fellow Community Liaisons/Relationship Managers and occasionally temporarily cover other territory.
- Attend occasional evening dinners or weekend work for events.
Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, fundraising, donor relations, pharmaceutical sales, or similar positions preferred.
- Good understanding of medical terminology and healthcare industry practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse people.
- Experience in organizing events and managing community outreach programs.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the West Coast, Florida region.
- Available to attend occasional evening dinners and weekend events.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience in clinical research or familiarity with clinical trials.
- Knowledge of liver and metabolic diseases, particularly fatty liver disease.
- Background in fundraising, grant writing, or securing corporate sponsorships.
- Experience in public speaking and delivering effective presentations to varied audiences.
