Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments, materials, and equipment for restorative procedures such as crowns, bridges, fillings, and prosthodontics.
- Assist dentists during complex restorative treatments by providing chairside support with precision and efficiency.
- Take and develop X-ray images ensuring proper positioning and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Manage electronic dental records utilizing Open Dental Software and Carestream Imaging, ensuring accurate documentation of procedures and patient information.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term health.
- Support administrative tasks including managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team utilizing your four-handed dentistry skills to optimize workflow and enhance patient comfort.
- Monitor vital signs when necessary, especially for pediatric or medically compromised patients, ensuring their safety throughout treatment.
- Utilize advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners for prosthodontics to improve treatment precision.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Restorative Dental Assistant chairside with proficiency in chairside four-handed dentistry assisting for general dentistry, prosthodontics and endodontics.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Comfortable making temporary crowns.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental Software and Carestream Imaging; experience with similar dental documentation platforms is a plus.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently and safely. Must have X-ray Certification.
- Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient confidentiality.
- Skilled in dental coding and documentation for accurate billing and recordkeeping purposes.
- Exceptional communication skills interacting with patients, doctors and teammates.
- Must be dependable, a Team Player and have a positive attitude.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
