Current Opening:
Our Portland, Oregon office seeks a dedicated telephone receptionist/office assistant to join our team. This team member is integral to the smooth operation of our law firm and ensures the efficient day-to-day operations of our office. This is an entry-level position.
Telephone Receptionist:
Our team of telephone receptionists answer calls for all (5) of our offices: Portland, Astoria, Bend, Eugene and Vancouver, WA. As a telephone operator, you will be the voice and ears of our company. You will answer, direct (transfer), and keep record of ALL incoming calls. When needed, our operators take and send detailed messages.
Since our telephone receptionists are the first point of contact for people calling our firm, it is imperative that you have the following skill set and characteristics:
- Ability to speak and project clearly and distinctly, with a friendly confident tone
- Ability to use listening skills to put callers at ease and obtain accurate and complete information
- Ability to stay calm, cool, and collected -- with a good sense of humor
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple phone calls at one time
- Ability to think outside the box and to anticipate the needs of callers and/or co-workers
- A professional and helpful demeanor
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a fast paced and deadline-driven setting (previous operator experience and customer service experience highly preferred)

Office Assistant:
Our ideal candidate is curious, hard-working, quick on their feet, and eager to serve our clients. This is an excellent role for someone interested in the law and perhaps interested in law school.

Key Working Factors to consider:
- You will work out of our Portland office and have contact with our offices in both Oregon and Washington.

Primary work tasks include:
- Accounting and filing tasks as needed, including, but not limited to scanning, copying receipts, revising bills, organizing documents.
- Perform administrative duties for shareholders and management.
- Maintaining/updating current files, both paper and electronic.
- Processing mail, email, faxes and hand deliveries.
- Scanning projects.
- Supply ordering.
- Phone Operator and Intake Specialist coverage.
- Assisting with basic office needs such as keeping desk items stocked, offices clean, and creating comfortable and presentable office spaces for our clients.
- Perform general labor to support operation requirements including sweeping, mopping, dusting, dishwashing and maintenance of building.
- Driving Attorneys and/or clients to Courthouses or other offices.
- Driving errands (we facilitate our courier services in house and hand deliver many items).
Hours:
Monday – Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
