Responsibilities for Lead Teacher
- Maintain ongoing, open communication and positive relationships with parents, students, ASK office staff and school day staff/principals
- Check and respond to emails daily
- Implement the provided curriculum that nurtures and stimulates all domains of each child's development enrolled in the program.
- Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children's learning and growth
- Provide conflict resolution for staff who confide in you about concerns they have in their classroom
- Ensure that each family receives an opportunity to build strong relationships with teaching staff
- Provide a classroom environment that encourages parent participation
- Perform ongoing developmental evaluations of children as required by the department of education along with Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center to help students meet state and local standards in core content areas
- Attend monthly mandatory Saturday staff trainings
- Follow ASK Chain of Command for reporting/expressing concerns
- Qualifications for Lead Teacher
- 2 years teaching experience in a classroom setting
- Commit to the ASK Program schedule Monday- Friday 3:30-6:00 pm
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Schedule and pass a criminal background check
- Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition
- Effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities approved by the ASK Program Coordinator
- Demonstrable record of making decisions on behalf of children with their well-being the top priority

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
