Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure environment for hotel guests, employees, and visitors. This position conducts routine property patrols, monitors hotel activity, assists with guest concerns, documents incidents, and provides a visible presence throughout the hotel.
This position is not a law enforcement role. The primary responsibilities are observation, prevention, reporting, customer service, and communication.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct routine patrols of hotel buildings, parking lots, entrances, stairwells, hallways, and exterior areas.
- Monitor hotel activity and report suspicious behavior.
- Assist front desk staff with guest issues and safety concerns.
- Respond to noise complaints and policy violations.
- Ensure only registered guests and authorized visitors are on hotel property.
- Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Monitor security cameras and review footage when requested by management.
- Escort employees to vehicles during overnight hours when needed.
- Contact management, law enforcement, fire department, or EMS when necessary.
- Assist during emergencies including fire alarms, medical situations, severe weather, and evacuations.
- Identify safety hazards and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming presence while enforcing hotel policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, security, military, maintenance, or law enforcement is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to prepare accurate written reports.
- Ability to operate a smartphone and basic computer systems.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Must be dependable and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking throughout hotel property.
- Ability to patrol multiple floors and outdoor areas.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
