Founding Operator / Launch General Manager Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA Job Type: Part-time / Contract — Initial 90-Day Engagement Schedule: Flexible, approximately 15–25 hours per week Compensation: Paid contract + performance incentives Work Setting: Hybrid / In-person presence required in the San Francisco Bay Area About the Opportunity We are launching a privately funded premium consumer service in the San Francisco Bay Area at the intersection of luxury hospitality, concierge service, membership, human connection, and curated experiences. The initial business concept, brand direction, and launch strategy have already been developed. We are now looking for an exceptional Founding Operator / Launch General Manager to work directly with the Founder and turn the concept into a functioning San Francisco pilot. This is not a traditional management position. There is no large team waiting for you to manage. We are looking for someone who enjoys building from zero and is willing to personally execute during the earliest stage of a company. Your Mission During the initial 90-day engagement, you will help: - Recruit and develop the initial service-provider/talent network - Build practical operating procedures - Coordinate outside vendors - Help implement customer onboarding and verification processes - Establish concierge and customer-service workflows - Coordinate the company's initial website and operating systems - Help develop the first qualified customer pipeline - Coordinate initial paid customer experiences - Gather customer and provider feedback - Track key performance indicators - Measure repeat customer behavior - Identify operational problems and implement solutions - Report progress directly to the Founder The objective is to move from concept to real customers and transactions within approximately 90 days. Who We're Looking For We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following: - Luxury hospitality - Hotels or guest experience - Private membership clubs - Concierge services - Premium consumer services - Luxury travel - Events and experiential businesses - Talent or marketplace operations - Customer experience - Membership businesses - Early-stage startups - New-market or new-location launches A specific degree or MBA is not required. We care much more about your ability to execute, recruit, organize, solve problems, and build. The Ideal Candidate You are: - Highly resourceful - Organized and accountable - Comfortable working independently - Strong with people and recruiting - Comfortable interacting with premium clientele - Discreet and trustworthy - Able to operate with a limited startup budget - Comfortable testing ideas quickly - Willing to personally solve problems instead of immediately outsourcing them - Able to balance speed with good judgment - Excited by building something before all the systems exist You should be able to take an objective and respond with: “Here's how I'm going to make it happen.” What This Role Is NOT This is not primarily a consulting or advisory position. We are not looking for someone to spend 90 days developing presentations about what the company should eventually do. We are looking for someone who can help build and launch it. Initial Engagement This role will begin as an approximately 90-day paid contract engagement, with an expected commitment of approximately 15–25 hours per week. San Francisco Bay Area presence is strongly preferred because portions of recruiting, vendor coordination, customer experience, and launch activities will require in-person participation. The engagement will include base compensation plus the opportunity for performance-based milestone incentives. For an exceptional operator, successful completion of the San Francisco pilot could lead to consideration for a larger long-term leadership role. Confidentiality This is an early-stage, privately funded venture. To protect the business concept during development, the full service model and additional company details will be shared with selected candidates during the interview process. Candidates advancing to later stages may be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement before receiving detailed business materials. How to Apply Please submit your resume along with brief answers to the following: 1. What is something you personally helped build or launch from zero? 2. What did you personally do during the earliest stage? 3. Tell us about a time you had an important objective but limited money, staff, or resources. How did you accomplish it? 4. What interests you about helping build a new premium consumer business from the ground up? 5. Are you available approximately 15–25 hours per week during the next 90 days and able to participate in person in the San Francisco Bay Area when necessary? We are especially interested in people who have demonstrated the ability to turn: IDEAS → SYSTEMS → CUSTOMERS → RESULTS.
