What You'll Do:
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, staff, and guests. As an on-floor position, the responsibilities include monitoring the restaurant’s interior and exterior, deterring criminal activity, managing crowd control during peak times, and enforcing restaurant policies. The guard must be able to respond to suspicious behavior or emergencies, including medical incidents or disturbances, and assist with evacuations when necessary. This position requires collaboration with the security team and Casa Bonita staff, writing detailed incident reports, and maintaining a visible presence to promote safety.
Responsibilities:
- Follow established steps of service to provide a safe, welcoming environment for guests
- Able to work independently while maintaining clear communication and collaborating effectively with team members
- Welcome and engage with all guests to create a memorable experience
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt to feedback, and comply with all company policies and safety regulations
- Monitor and control access to building entrances, staff-only doors, and gates
- Inspect the restaurant, entrances, exits, and diving area to ensure safety and compliance with security protocols
- Verify that all security equipment (radios, flashlights, earpieces, etc.) is functioning properly
- Maintain high visibility to deter inappropriate or illegal activity
- Maintain constant communication with employees and guests
- Prevent loss or damage by reporting irregularities in scenery or equipment
- Verbally intervene during crises, using the ability to quickly assess situations, build rapport, understand when individuals are not processing information, and offer support or direction as needed
- Evict or trespass guests who violate rules, regulations, or disrupt the experience of others
- Assist with investigations as needed
- Document and report all incidents or injuries to Security leadership before the shift ends
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations based on business needs
Qualifications:
- 18+ years of age
- Minimum of 3 years of safety and security experience (corrections, law enforcement, or military preferred)
- Possess extensive knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols
- Comfortable engaging and entertaining the public
- Strong conflict resolution skills to provide exceptional service and maintain a positive guest experience
- Able to communicate effectively in English
- Must have reliable form of transportation and be able to work flexible shifts, inclusive of weekends, days, late nights, and holidays
- Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of the job
- This position requires consistent availability for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening shifts, as well as Sunday morning shifts, on an ongoing basis. Candidates must be able to reliably work these required shifts as part of the regular schedule expectations for the role. Availability for these shifts is a condition of employment for this position. This availability is also an essential function of the role.
Preferred:
- Bilingual in Spanish
- CPR, First Aid and AED certification
- Retired law enforcement or military personnel are encouraged to apply
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Able to distinguish colors and see both up close and at a distance
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Able to use manual dexterity, gross motor skills, and fine motor skills
- Must be able to walk or run a minimum of 10,000 steps during any given shift
- Able to pivot, transition between seated and standing positions, kneel, stoop, and lift throughout shifts
- Able to multitask and work efficiently with speed, accuracy, and composure in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant and entertainment
