This position is in a primary care office for Adults only 21+. This office does not serve pediatrics. This position is a Full-time position. Hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. No weekends required. This position does offer reimbursement for bi-annual licensure renewal as well as bi-annual BLS Certification renewal (must be through American Heart Association).
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by checking patients in for appointments and walk ins, taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting relevant information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist healthcare providers during procedures, including dermatology, internal medicine, urgent care, and Primary Care medicine/specialties.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKG's, medication administration, X-ray imaging, first aid and basic life support (BLS) procedures to support patient diagnostics and treatment plans.
- Manage medical documentation meticulously, including ICD coding, medical records management, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support patient intake processes by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, collecting co-pays and answering patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Primary Care medical clinic setting to deliver exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Must have 2+ years experience in a primary care office or medical clinic type setting.
- Must have 2+ years experience with phlebotomy, blood drawing, urine collection and collection of specimens.
- Proven medical office experience with a strong background in outpatient clinics or hospital environments.
- Hands-on experience in Primary care office, emergency medicine, geriatrics, or medical-surgical units is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for documentation and data management.
- Knowledge of pharmacology principles, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessments.
- Must possess current/active as a Certified in Medical Assistant.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as first aid and phlebotomy is a plus.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or primary care office.
