Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Lexington, NC
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established plastics manufacturer that is continuing to invest in its people, equipment, and production capabilities. They are seeking experienced Maintenance Supervisors to lead maintenance operations across all three shifts, ensuring production equipment remains safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time both supporting technicians on the plant floor and coordinating maintenance activities to minimise downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support production goals. Candidates with strong hydraulic troubleshooting skills and experience in manufacturing maintenance are highly encouraged to apply. Injection molding or plastics manufacturing experience is a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and support a team of Maintenance Technicians during your assigned shift.
- Prioritise and assign maintenance work orders to maximise equipment uptime and production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair industrial manufacturing equipment, including:
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Industrial electrical systems
- Mechanical equipment
- Plumbing systems
- Support emergency breakdown response while ensuring repairs are completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on schedule, including:
- Oil and filter changes
- Inspection of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems
- Verification of machine safety devices
- Equipment lubrication and adjustments
- Supervise repairs and maintenance of:
- Injection molding machines
- Auxiliary processing equipment
- Chillers
- Cooling towers
- Air compressors
- Material handling equipment
- Plant electrical systems
- Lighting
- Switchgear and electrical panels
- Assist with equipment installations, commissioning, process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure maintenance activities are accurately documented within the CMMS or maintenance tracking system.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate equipment requirements to minimise downtime.
- Support production teams by responding quickly to maintenance requests and equipment failures.
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate equipment status between maintenance teams.
- Promote and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA requirements and company safety policies.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the maintenance department.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to maintenance technicians.
- Assist with training, performance development and maintaining a positive team culture.
- Support Maintenance Management with projects, scheduling and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience leading, supervising or mentoring maintenance personnel is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with:
- Hydraulic systems (highly preferred)
- Pneumatic systems
- Industrial electrical systems
- Mechanical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems for work orders and preventive maintenance.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
