Moriah Homes LLC is looking to hire dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work in our Des Moines area HCBS program. In this role, you will work with adults with disabilities to help them live meaningful lives and achieve greater independence and fulfillment by supporting daily living skills, behavioral goals, and community involvement. We are looking for reliable, positive DSP’s that can make a difference in the lives of those we support – while experience is preferred, we will train the right candidate!

DSP candidates who have an eligible Medication Manager certification can qualify for an additional $1/hr.

What You’ll Do
- Support residents in a group home environment with daily activities ranging from meal preparation, feeding if needed, personal hygiene tasks, grocery shopping, errands, budgeting, and medication administration.
- Work with residents with special needs including autism, anxiety, depression, Down syndrome, and other disabilities or mental health needs.
- Assist with transportation to appointments and community events (depending on site, may use personal vehicle to provide transportation as needed).
- Follow care plans and advocate for resident needs
- Promote dignity and a safe environment for residents
- Communicate issues or changes in condition to the residential supervisor or team leadership immediately
- Document services provided each shift
- Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
- May be required to cross train at different sites as needed
- May be required to work every other weekend and on a holiday rotation
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance
- A reliable vehicle
- CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain
- Good attendance – our residents depend on you!
- Ability to work with residents in the community
- Comfort with computers preferred
- Ability to pass a background check
Don’t have your Med Manager? Moriah Homes LLC will pay for the cost of the program plus instructional time.
